Directorate of Standards & Compliance

The Directorate of Standards & Compliance ensures that goods, services, and business practices meet national and international benchmarks for quality and safety. Working in partnership with the Sierra Leone Standards Bureau and other regulatory bodies, the Directorate oversees compliance with certification requirements, quality assurance systems, and trade-related technical regulations. Its work is essential to enhancing consumer trust and enabling export competitiveness.

The Directorate also leads the Ministry’s efforts to strengthen market surveillance, reduce substandard goods in the domestic market, and align Sierra Leone’s quality infrastructure with global standards. By promoting a culture of compliance, the Directorate supports local industries to innovate, improve product quality, and gain acceptance in regional and global markets.
