Directorate of Entrepreneurial & Industrial Development

The Directorate of Entrepreneurial & Industrial Development drives the Ministry’s agenda to expand local production, strengthen value addition, and promote a vibrant manufacturing base. It leads national initiatives on industrialisation, including the establishment of Special Industrial Zones, agro-processing parks, and policy reforms that stimulate investment in light and medium industries. The Directorate works closely with private sector actors to unlock new opportunities in agribusiness, manufacturing, and emerging industries.

Its mandate also extends to removing barriers that limit industrial productivity — such as access to finance, market infrastructure, and regulatory bottlenecks — while promoting green industrialisation and climate-smart production. By supporting innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable industry practices, the Directorate contributes directly to job creation, import substitution, and Sierra Leone’s long-term economic diversification.
